A pioneer in green logistics says a new transport planning tool is helping it to improve efficiencies on an NHS contract.
WEGO Couriers transports a variety of goods for Pride Pharmacy to patients of the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. WEGO won the contract with Pride Pharmacy in October 2019 but has seen its workload dramatically increase as the organisation changed its working practices, as a response to the coronavirus pandemic, to keep vital drugs supplied to patients who were unable to attend hospital.

Established in 1998, WEGO was a leader in green logistics and one of the first companies to use electric vans, deploying its first EV in 2003. Today, it delivers consignments using BMW i3 cars, Nissan e-NV200 vans, and e-cargo bikes. Following its success in Derby, WEGO is now looking at rolling out My Transport Planner to its other courier operations in Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Leicester and London.
